Install it where it fits your setup.
The software itself carries no licence fee under the MIT licence. Running it is still not free: Sovereigncast requires existing hardware, an Umbrel server or a rented VPS.
The saving: When you host your podcast yourself, the external podcast hosting fee goes away — the costs of servers, domains and operations do not.
